Welcome April !

As I was meditating on what to explore this month, I looked out the window and noticed it was raining. The answers are all around us. All the time if we slow down and pay attention. Yes, rain, I hear you.

We often associate rain with sadness, emotional pain, and difficult times. There is a myriad of quotes suggesting that “after the rain, the sun will shine,” and “there’s always a rainbow at the end of every rain.”

How did sky water get such a bad wrap?

How have we come to connect rain to depression and gloom? Of course, not everyone has this association, but it feels culturally rampant.

This month, we will explore our relationship with rain as a form of the sacred element of water and redefine the emotions that rain may illicit within us. We will build a relationship with the vibration of sky water and lean into how rain has been revered since the beginning of time.

questions for reflection

What emotional associations do you have with rain? What feelings do you equate rain with?
What memories from childhood do you have with rain? Did you puddle jump, hide from it, or dance in it? Go back in your memory bank and see yourself as a child interacting with rain.
What life changing events do you connect with rain? A wedding, the birth of a child, a death, or a health crisis. Consider how this/these events shifted your relationship with rain.
When you hear that “it is going to rain,” how do you react? Does anger, excitement, or frustration arise? Does rain ruin your plans or are you able to see it as a blessing in disguise?

RITUAL INVITATION

This month holds the energy of the most amazing total solar eclipse on April 8th. No matter where you are in the world, the energy of the eclipse is going to be substantial. IF it happens to rain where you are on that day, put a special bowl out to collect this special water (known sky water this is water that has not touched the Earth) that is infused with the energy of the eclipse.

If it is not raining where you are, collect some sky water beforehand and leave it out during the total solar eclipse to infuse the energy of this event in the water.

You can use this water in all your rituals. Add herbs, essential oils, etc. or leave it totally unadulterated as Total Eclipse Sky Water to be used in situations where change is necessary and we are called to “eclipse” a situation.
